Embracing their destiny...
When half the team from last year got traded away or let go, what did everybody think? Admit it, everyone thought, "Next year's team is gonna blow chunks." Then they start 12-2 and we're thinking, "Maybe geek boy has it right on his computer."
Then like the Emperor sweeping in and promising Anakin the way to save Padme's life, the Dodgers thought they knew the answer to everything and were on the verge of conquering the Baseball galaxy. Unfortunately for the Dodgers, their reign as evil overlords of the Baseball Galaxy was *MUCH* shorter than that of the Anakin/Vader. Also unlike Vader, the Dodgers destiny wasn't greatness (say what you will about Vader, but he ultimately kills the Emperor and fulfills the prophecy that he would restore order to the force). We all knew they were a sub .500 team and even with that torrid 12-2 start they were unable keep their destiny at bay for very long. They are now 2 games below .500 after having their once stellar bullpen blow 2 late inning leads--fully embracing their sub .500 selves. If the Padres hadn't sucked so much ass during this same time, my prediction of 10 games back would have been fulfilled by now. But I guess the force is still somewhat strong in these Loser Dodgers so they were able to manufacture Padres losses, while ensuring defeats of their own. I'm still waiting to see if I can utter the phrase, "There is still good left in them" about these Dodgers. I'm just not feeling it yet.
So here we are, 10 days left in June, and everyone in Dodger World is ready for summer without a competitive LA baseball team. The fans in the OC can take their team and shove it in their California of Anaheim posteriors!! (No foul language here, yet...)
Peace Out.
